Sept 16-17 Pranayama is the ancient practice of controlling the breath through specific breathing techniques. Prana means “life-force” and we will explore through various breathing practices how we can control, enhance and shift the prana or energy in the body. On the second day we will experience different meditation practices other than pranayama such as Mantra or Japa Meditation, Meditative Walk, Chakra, Gazing, (Trataka), Third Eye, Sound (Nada Yoga), Eye Gazing, Yoga Nidra, and more.
Brown St. Mar 7th, Mar 7th (Tuesdays), & Vandalia Mar 12th (Sundays) - This series of beginner's classes are perfect for those who have never done yoga before or even for those who have practiced but want to revisit the basics of yoga. Mats and props are provided. However, if you have your own mat we recommend bringing it.
Feb 3rd Brown St. Join us in this fun class where we will play and learn more about Acro Yoga! Class may begin with an energizing solar asana sequence to prepare the body for Acro Yoga. We will then explore and learn safety involved in being a base/flyer or spotter and the importance of active spotting through experiential play. Basic Acro yoga poses will be introduced to make this practice fun and safe!
Brown St. Oct 14-15. In this twelve hour Restorative Teacher Training we will explore ways to utilize props effectively so that students feel supported in every pose to promote deep relaxation. The benefits of each pose will be discussed as well as variations and modifications. We will also discuss how different body types or injuries may affect each student's experience in different poses and how to address situations that may arise.
